Quincy: Jerôme de la Chaise 2016

A Sauvignon Blanc from the Central Loire Valley, this white has made a new entry onto our wine list from Yapp Brothers as a delicious and cheaper alternative to the other Sauvignon Blancs from the same area such as Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume.

Jerome de la Chaise is one of the 10 Vignerons Indépendents making his wines free from the influence of the increasingly powerful local wine-makers collective. Quincy is the second oldest appellation contrôlée in France and Sauvignon Blanc is the only permitted grape variety.

With aromas of elderflower and white flowers, gooseberry and citrus zest on the palate this is a versatile white, well suited to salads and seafood.

From our menu: Try this with the salad of grilled goats cheese from our private dining menu or chèvre from the cheeseboard. It goes beautifully with a fillet of sea bass, beurre blanc or the grilled squid with salad nicoise.
